MCS has started its production of explosives in Saudi Arabia 24/01/2012

MCS (Modern Chemicals and Services), a subsidiary of the EPC Group, has been producing explosives at its factory since last summer. This is the culmination of five years of remarkable efforts, involving in particular the unprecedented granting of permission to a foreign company to enter this sector, followed by the obtaining of the one and only licence to use an explosives mixing truck in the country.

The work began in 2009 on two explosives production and drilling/mining service sites in Somman and Jamoom. The beginning of 2010 saw the start of the simultaneous construction of the warehouses to store the end product, the production workshops, the roads and the high security barrier system.

Meanwhile, the first MEMU (mobile explosives mixing unit) was shipped from France to Saudi Arabia. This new technology allows MCS to offer additional solutions in terms of safety and effectiveness in the rapidly growing Saudi market.

The launching of production last summer concretises an ambitious project and the EPC Group’s development in this part of the world.
